In Show #180, I announced that I was going to start a program that would condition me enough to be able to do 100 consecutive push ups.
Here's a link to the website that claims that they can get you there! From the website:
"If you're serious about increasing your strength, follow this six week training program and you'll soon be on your way to completing 100 consecutive push ups!
No doubt some of you can already do 50 consecutive push ups, but let's face it, you're in a big minority. Most of you reading this won't even be able to manage 20 pushups. Actually, I'm sure many of you can't even do 10.
However, it really doesn't matter which group you fall into. If you follow the progressive push ups training program, I'm positive you'll soon be able to do 100 push ups!"
Here's the intial test or evaluation.
For my age group, I ranked 4. That means if I follow this schedule, today I will need to do 10, 10, 8, 6, then max out with 60 seconds of rest in between each.
Here's a link to this week's schedule. I plan to do these on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Here's a link to the PDF with the entire program.
So, I invite you to come along and join me on my personal challenge. Regardless of when you choose to start YOUR program, or how well you are progressing, REPLY and COMMENT here to join in on this challenge.

Very interesting! I may have to undertake this as well. For the past 90+ days, I've been doing the Power 90 program, and it's been awesome. I've been doing a daily blog of my experience...check it out at http://power90experience.blogspot.com/.
I'll jump on board for the 100 pushup challenge. I will have to do the initial test tonight.
Interesting challenge! I love things like this that can motivate people to get off the couch.
Like another listener mentioned, I too used the "couch to 5k" approach to running my first 5k - it was great, as you bit small chunks off, and sure enough, sooner than you thought possible, you were running a 5k!
I look forward to doing 100 pushups with you all!
